Smith Dray Line
Smith Dray Line began its search for a more User Friendly Windows
based software in the fall of 2005. It was our desire to find a system
that allowed us to stop entering data again and again in a variety of
home grown dispatch reports, as well as many custom sales and customer
service reports. The Data was in our present system but could not be manipulated
to produce what we needed. Our Dispatchers were still using the manual
ticket system on a dispatch board. Our accounting staff kept scratch pads
and calculators close by to make numerous calculations to properly distribute
commissions to sales people as well as drivers. Duplication
of data entry as well as under utilization of equipment was costing us
money.
Catherine Zych scheduled her first visit to our home office to
evaluate our processes in hopes of finding areas Mover's Suite
could help improve our productivity. We knew she would find many
but were not prepared for the difference Mover's Suite could make.
Once our decision was made that Mover's Suite was to be our
software things moved quickly. The software was installed in February of
2006 and our training started. From the very beginning, utilizing
the method of train the trainer, we were able to gain a limited
knowledge of the package by a large group of employees in a short
period of time. The trainers at Mover's
Suite were excellent and demonstrated a working knowledge of our
industry that was crucial in our efforts of converting our "set
in our ways" staff to a new way of working. We were anxious to
get up to speed quickly as we could see the summer season fast
approaching. Well we made it! By April we were live and on our
way. The staff at Mover's Suite was there for us throughout the
summer season to help with whatever fine tuning we needed as well
as to assist us with any problems we encountered.
By utilizing this system we were able to combine loads from
our 5 branches to maximize our vans as well as to streamline our billing
process. From our coordinators to our collections people all have
continued to improve productivity by utilizing your product.
My hat is off to Jim Saad and staff for the quality
of the product, but moreover the friendly roll up your sleeves and get involved
attitude demonstrated by all of the Mover's Suite family. Enhancements
continue to come our way as Mover's Suite continues to improve
the product to meet the needs of the moving industry.
Keep up the good work. I am certain we chose the right software
partner (Mover's Suite).
