Use the Materials setup screen to define and edit all materials that are to be referenced within the Containers, Packing and Unpacking interface.  This section can be used to familiarize a user with this setup screen.

Access the Materials setup screen within the Accounting Setup > Materials from within the Web Administration Tool.

The Materials setup screen is laid out with four columns with titles of Commands, Sort Order, Description, and Item Code Mapping (see Figure 4).

The Commands column will either contain an Edit and/or Delete button in it.  The Delete button will only appear when there are no order details records associated with that particular material item.

The Sort Order and Description column headers evoke sorting on the values within the display.  Selecting the Sort Order button will cause the display to be sorted in ascending order by values within that column.  Clicking the same button a second time will cause the sort to be in descending order.

The Sort Order value determines how the material item will appear within the Containers, Packing and Unpacking interface, with the lowest values being listed first.  In the example above (Figure 4), the item denoted as “Dish Pack” will appear before any other materials.  This is also the order in which they will appear on a work ticket, as well.

Notice that the first two entries within the setup displayed in Figure 4 displays first within the CPU dialog.

The Item Code Mapping is a dynamic section that changes when the Edit button is selected.  Pressing Edit will cause the Web Administration Tool to display further options.

Notice in Figure 6 that the Edit button transformed into Update, a Cancel option was made available, and a user can edit an Item Code value.

Entering Item Codes will link the materials to a revenue accounts.  If a material record does not have an Item Codes associated to each of the Container, Packing, and Unpacking rows, then the material will not be available within Mover’s Suite.

To define a new material item, press the New button near the bottom of the General Materials tab.

Note that when the user presses New that the text of the New button switches to Save, a Cancel option appears along with the ability to enter a Sort Order and Description.

A paging feature has also been added to this setup to allow a user to jump to other pages within the listing.  Click on the corresponding page number and the application will display that page of data from within the total listing.

Before making changes illustrated in the following sections, we recommend that you have a list of Item Codes intended for use as material types on hand, as well as a good understanding of their role within your organization.
