The Mover’s Suite Rating Systems has been designed to provide rating information to users within the application and to direct rating imports to the correct general ledger entries.
This system provides the ability to have rating information automatically generated when users are creating recurring billing items, quote generation, and revenue items. The system is also flexible enough to allow users to manually enter their own rating data, hence providing the option of overriding the values that were provided automatically.
By defining a Rate Plan, an administrator can lay out all the elements of a rating system. Once established, the plan can be assigned to order records as well as individually to a recurring billing item, where it can be used to pull in all defined rating information, such as rate amount, effective date of the rate, etc. The system will use the Rate Plan in conjunction with the Item Code assigned to pull the rating information with Mover’s Suite.
In a more automated form, the system can be designed to reference specific data from the order record and use this information to base rate amounts upon. The Advanced Rating feature of the Rate Matrix has been designed to compare data from an order and lookup and return a rate calculated on one or two data values. The elements available to the matrix include: Cubic Feet, Linear Feet, Miles, and Weight data fields.
Dynamically changing application and invoice labels further enhances the usefulness of this system. Illustrated in Figure 1 (below) are highlights of the dynamic Rating System.

All these attributes of a rating system, and more, can easily be established within administrative setup.
Features of the Rating System are summarized below:
• Rate Plans can be easily established through administrative setup tools
• An unlimited number of rating schemes can be defined
• Rate Plans include a variety of rating information, such as rate amount and rate type
• Item Codes within a Rate Plan can have effective dates applied to them
• Rate amounts can be automatically generated based on a flat-rate or on information retrieved from the order record, such as miles and weight of the move
• Rating information can be applied to recurring billing items, quotes, and revenue items
• Date fields and invoice labels used within the application are dynamically rendered to reflect the rate type in effect
• User has the ability to override automatically generated rating information and enter the data manually
Refer to the Rating Systems Overview Diagram for graphical interpretation of the entire Rating System.
