Questions & answers

What grids can have data exported from them?

A recent change to MoversSuite (Version 3.10) made it possible to export data from grids to output in either HTML or to Microsoft Excel.

Right-mouse click options for Export To in Local Dispatch

The Export To function is available through right-mouse click options from within the following data grids:

  • AR Detail tab in AR Credit & Collections
  • Dynamics GP Order Inquiry (available through the Accounting Tools menu)
  • Main Dispatch Center grid in Local Dispatch
  • Main grid in Claims tab of the Claims module

The Export To function will create output that matches what is displayed in the data grid. This allows a user to customize the view of the data in the grid through sorting, filtering, changing column headings, etc. and to create matching output that can be saved to file, printed, or emailed, hence reducing the need for custom reporting. See Data Grids topic for details.

Exported data viewed through a browser (HTML)

Local Dispatch Example

In Local Dispatch, users that want a quick rundown of services to complete to be emailed to a coordinator they can do the following:

  1. Adjust the columns that display (through the icon)
  2. Set the Service Date to targeted range
  3. 3. Order the data by setting a set or filter
  4. Right-mouse click in the Dispatch Center data grid and select Export To > HTML and the report will appear within a browser window
  5. If the default system browser for MoversSuite is Microsoft Internet Explorer, then a user can add the report to a new email message window through the Page > Send Page by Email... option. Note: Different browsers will have different print options available

Other Microsoft Internet Explorer options include the ability to create a physical file using the Save As... option and to edit the data through the Page > Edit with Microsoft Office Word. Tip: Grids exported to Microsoft Office Word or Microsoft Excel can be edited.

Claims Example

A common usage of the Export To function in Claims is to report all claims for all customers of a particular national account. To do this a user can:

  1. Adjust the columns that display and their location (through the icon)
  2. Set a sort or filter such as having a sort on Customer Number and include only records with a Claim Status of Open
  3. Right-mouse click in the Claims data grid and select Export To > Excel and Microsoft Excel will open a workbook containing the data. The layout of the report can be modified as well as the data from within Microsoft Excel. Note: The column totals for the number of claims displayed as well as amounts for the Claimed Amount and Settlement Amount are also included in what was exported to the spreadsheet.
