The ability to postpone a task is available through the Change Task Due Date option.  Pressing this button on an open task item (not marked complete or not applicable) will open the Change Task Due Date dialog allowing a user to select a Manual Date or base the new date on an entered Number of Days beyond the current due date.

When postponing task items without a due date (visible through the Tasks tab) a user will only be able to select a Manual Date.

 

Note:  The Number of Days option will not generate a due date that falls on Saturday or Sunday.   If the number of days added to the original date is computed to fall on either day, then the application will set the due date to the Friday before the computed weekend.

 

The date originally set for the tasks will be preserved for reporting purposes in the Originally Due On date.

 

The fields updated when the Change Task Due Date is saved include the following:

      Due Date

      Original Due Date

      Task Changed By

      Task Changed On Date
