One way to filter data is to click on the Filter Select button () and choose from the data value options listed in the drop-down menu.

Choosing an option from this drop-down menu will cause the grid to be repopulated with only those values that match the type selected.  For example, choosing “3/7/2007” from the list of Date values in Figure 12 (above) will cause the application to only display records with a matching date within the grid.

Further, the Filter Bar will become active and will display just below the grid.  It displays the filter option that is in use as well as the options to select a different filter or to turn the filter feature off.

Clicking on the Filter On/Off check box allows the Filter Bar to remain in effect.  Further, recently used filters will be available through the Recent Filter Selector option.  Pressing this button as in Figure 13 (above) will list the past filters entered by the user.

Pressing the Remove Filter button will remove the filter and close the Filter Bar.
