The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is used by MoversSuite to communicate with the mail server in use and is defined by the values set up within Mover’s Suite Administration > Common > Email > STMP.  The options and their description are listed within the table below.

 

Note: These settings will require only minimal maintenance after the initial setup. 

 

SMTP Option

Description

Host

This is the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the mail provider or mail hosting service, such as mail.msn.com.

Port

Port number for the mail server:

21 for FTP

25 for SMTP

80 for HTTP

119 for NNTP

NeedLogin

Enter a non-zero value if the mail server specified for the Host requires authentication, i.e. must pass to it the UserID and Password. 

Enter zero if no authentication is required by the Host.

UserID

This is the mail user identification needed to access the Host.  Enter a valid user identification value if the NeedLogin field is a non-zero value.

Password

This is the password for the UserID specified to access the Host.  Enter a valid password if the NeedLogin field is a non-zero value.

HasFirewallProxy

Enter a non-zero value if there is a firewall proxy server in use.

FirewallProxyHost

Enter the name of the proxy host, such as proxy.msn.com, if a firewall is in use.

FirewallProxyPort

Enter the proxy host port number (refer to the Port field values above), if a firewall is in use.

FirewallProxySocksVersion

Enter the SOCKS version, if a firewall is in use:

0 – No SOCKS

1 – SOCKS 4

2 – SOCKS 4A

3 – SOCKS 5

FirewallProxyNeedsLogin

If a firewall is in use and needs authentication, then enter a non-zero value.

FirewallProxyUserID

Enter the user identification to access the firewall proxy host, if needed.

FirewallProxyPassword

Enter the password to access the firewall proxy host, if needed.
