Screen splitters provide the ability to expand or close a pane with a visible icon.  The icons appear as a row of dots separated by two arrows ().

The arrows indicate which direction the section will close when the splitter is clicked on by the user.  In the image above (Fig. 26), the user can click on the splitter within the Alerts/Tasks pane to close the alerts portion.

The state of the screen splitters is saved for each user upon exit.   Refer to the Saving Data Grid Settings  for more information.
