MoversSuite Administration (standard) > MMS > Local Service > Serv Type and Serv Type Group
Define all types of local services to be offered through Local Dispatch. Any specific task assignment that can occur for an order will need to be defined as services, such as packing, loading, unloading, driver assist, etc. Avoid associating the Service Type to a particular dispatch.
The Service Type is specifically referenced within MoversSuite > Local Dispatch > Add/Edit Local Service.
Important:
A Service Type will need to be created for each branch that will be using the service.

Service |
Enter the name of the service (up to 30 characters). Each service will need to be created for each branch of service. Units |
Enter either “W” if the service is measured by weight or “C” if the service is measured by cartons. The Units setting generally affects the choice for Labor type and whether the Average Cartons Per Hour or the Average Weight Per Hours is needed. In general, if the Units is “C” then the Labor Type is expected to be that of a packer and if Units is “W” then the Labor Types is expected to be that of a mover. See Add Local Service for reference and usage. |

Labor Type |
Enter a value (up to 20 characters) describing the type of service to be performed. The Labor Type will influence which services are available within Local Dispatch. |

Avg Cartons Per Hr |
If the Units field is set to C then enter the average number of cartons a single packer is reasonably expected to handle within an hour. Important: This field should not be left blank if Units is set to C. |

Avg Weight Per Hr |
If the Units field is set to W then enter the average number of pounds a single mover can reasonably handle within an hour. Important: This field should not be left blank if Units is set to W. |

Item Code |
If the Service description will be linked to imported revenue items then it will need to be associated to an Item Code. In which case, select the appropriate Item Code from the available list. This value is typically set to an item code associated to a labor type. Important: If using the Revenue Entry > Transactions > Import Revenue function, item codes must be set for each service that will be imported. |

Branch |
Select a Branch from the available list. A branch must be assigned to a service in order for it to be available within Local Dispatch. Services must be assigned to a branch in order to be available for orders and personnel assigned to that branch. Important: Each branch must have at least one service assigned to it. If the branch is a non-servicing branch, then define the record to inform users which branch completes the service. |

Service Type Group |
After defining all Service Types, it may be desired to group services together for reporting purposes. At which time, the Service Type Groups can be defined and an administrator can revisit the Service Type setup and select the appropriate group from the available drop-down list. |

Manual Entry Hours Flag |
Set this flag to “1” to allow the system-computed hours within the Local Dispatch > Add/Edit Local Service > Hrs./Man field to be overridden by the MoversSuite user. If this flag is set to “0” the computed hours cannot be manually adjusted by a MoversSuite user. |
Fields appearing in red are required when adding new records for the particular setup area.
