Automatic Retrieval of Order Information

There are two means by which to compute rates based on order information.  One is by setting the Rate Type to 100-Weight and the other is to use Advanced Rating.

Setting the Rate Type to the preset option of 100-Weight will direct the application to pull the value of the Weight field into the rating equation. This functionality works outside of the Rate Plan and is invoked automatically when the user selects the 100-Weight Rate Type.

The Advanced Rating system can also use values assigned to an order to determine a rate value.  The following four data values can be used when designing a Rate Matrix:

§ Cubic Feet

§ Linear Feet

§ Miles

§ Weight

When a Rate Matrix is in use, the application will allow the user to adjust these settings directly from within a rating dialog, such as Recurring Billing Setup, through the Edit Advanced Rating Basis dialog.  See the Applying Rate Matrix Rating Information section for details.

The topic of Advanced Ratings is discussed within the Advanced Rating Systems section.
