A user can update the “Miles and Weight” Rate Matrix provided from MoversSuite to fit their own needs or they can define their own Rate Matrix.  This section covers the details of defining a new Rate Matrix.  One can use this information to edit existing matrices, as well.

Note: When making a large number of changes using the MoversSuite Administration - web, such as adding Rate Matrix columns, MoversSuite advises to press the Save button often to avoid losing data; changes made to a screen in the MoversSuite Administration - web are not saved until the Save button is pressed.

Creating a Rate Matrix

1.   Access the MoversSuite Administration - web,

2.   Open0 the Accounting Setup > Advanced Rating > Rate Matrix setup,

3.   Click on the New button and the fields will become active and editable within the Setup tab,

Note:  When the New button is pressed the Copy From option will appear.  This feature will create an exact duplicate of an existing Rate Matrix record, either of which can be edited by the user.

4.   Enter a unique Description for the Rate Matrix,

5.   Select the X Range and Y Range values from the drop-down menu for each,

Tip: When designing a matrix, a user may want to specify range that is anticipated to have the largest number of entries be that of the X Range.  This will make it easier to view the data through the Rate Matrix report.

6.   Click Save to keep the changes or Cancel to back them out,

7.   Select the Ranges tab,

8.   Enter X Range values accordingly.  Range values that overlap will be rejected and the user will receive an error,

Range values that leave a gap will be accepted, therefore caution should be taken when adding or modifying range values.  In the example below, the application accepted the three missing values between 40 and 44,

Tip: Use the Tab button or arrow keys to navigate from one field to the next.

9.   Press the Save button (bottom of the Add Ranges section) to keep the changes or Cancel to reject changes made to this section.  Upon an initial Save, the application will generate a Current section which allows the user to make changes to each range individually.  Press the Edit button to make the range changes or Delete to remove the range,

Tip: Use the items per page feature to limit the number of entries displayed to the screen.   Once a selection has been made, then hyperlinks for the available page numbers will appear within Current section of the X Range.

10.  Press Update to keep the line changes,

11.  Enter values for the Min and Max fields in the Add Ranges section to insert a range,

12.  Enter Y Range values accordingly in the same manner as that of entering the X Range values,

13.  When the Y Range values have been entered, select the Details tab and it will display all values entered for both the X and Y Ranges and their intersection (for which the Rate and Breakpoints can be set),

14.  Press Edit button to enable data to be entered within the fields,

15.  Enter Rate values,

16.  Enter Breakpoint values (optional),

17.  Press Save to keep the changes.

This example is just one possible Rate Matrix setup.  Another way in which to set up a matrix is to define and use just one axis
